How do I Become a Participant?
Families in Action offers the Confident Parenting Programme to the general public, organizations and companies throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
In addition to annual public workshops, based on specific requests, Families in Action will modify the programme to meet community groups or organizations needs and conduct sessions on-site for members and/or employees.
One (1) day parenting workshops are also available
WHAT IS CONFIDENT PARENTING?
The Confident Parenting Programme at Families in Action is developed on the premise that:
- Parenting is not a Destination: it is a Journey
- Parenting Skills can be enhanced
- Each Parent is an expert on his/her own child
- There is no perfect parent
The Programme is highly interactive and is delivered by skilled, experienced Parenting Educators whose resources range across a wide spectrum of relevant disciplines. This programme will assist parents to navigate towards:
- Exploring Parenting Styles
- Understanding their Children’s Development
- Finding alternative methods of Discipline
- Communicating better with their children & spouse
- Coping with Stress
- Anger Management
- Implementing new skills which can be applied within family and networking relationships
- Caring for self
